Over the last few weeks, we have been highlighting how Air-FTG® technology provided by Bell Geospace will allow us to gain a detailed understanding of the subsurface before we begin drilling.

We are now very pleased to announce that we will fly this survey over Lower Saxony, in conjunction with OMV (our joint venture partner). This is the first stage of Projekt THERMO, which aims to deliver zero-carbon, baseload energy to Lower Saxony’s economy. This will improve Germany’s energy independence, decrease national carbon emissions, and provide jobs and investment in the local economy.

We aim to make a truly positive difference to Lower Saxony and will be donating the cost of our carbon emissions (from transport and survey, calculated from the EU’s carbon price) to a local biodiversity project run by NABU Niedersachsen.

The official Projekt THERMO website can be found here.
