Air-FTG flight pattern

Video provided by Bell Geospace

When Bell Geospace’s plane takes off to begin our survey, it will fly along a series of lines over the area to gain its data. These lines are generally spaced at 2 kilometres apart.

Every 24 hours, interim images are produced, which allows the exploration team to identify zones that need further flights in order to improve the data resolution. The plane can fly along narrower ‘corridors’ over those areas in order to gain the most valuable data.

The data will then be processed and analysed in the weeks after the flight, and will be used to determine where we should drill for geothermal energy. More updates to come!
